GREAT ROCK SHOWS AT RIVERSIDE:
So far I have referenced a couple of shows at the Sun Valley Ranch but what about the Riverside Convention Center? There were definitely some awesome rock shows back in the day. If you have any ticket stubs or photos from any of these shows, please send them to JP@townsquaremedia.com to be included in my Throwback Thursday series.
SELENA SOLD-OUT RIVERSIDE:
Back in 1993, a rising Tejano star by the name of Selena made a stop at Riverside Convention Center. IT WAS A SELL-OUT! This was actually a few months before the release of one of her biggest albums 'Amor Prohibido' which brought us forever hits 'Bidi Bidi Bom Bom' and 'No Me Queda Mas.'
At the time of this concert in 1993, her biggest hits were 'La Carcacha,' and 'Como La Flor.' and that was enough for Headliner status and enough to sell out the Riverside. The featured photo is courtesy of Raquel Vasquez. Raquel remembers 'people standing on tables' to get a good view of the Tejano legend. Selena also played the Bluebonnet Convention Center.
If you have any memorabilia or were at any of the following shows:
La Mafia, Ramon Ayala, Mazz, Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw, or Toby Keith at Sun Valley or Garth Brooks at Bluebonnet Convention Center. Please reach out to me I would love for you to share your memories with me for inclusion in this series.
