Last Friday, the Tejano world took a little deep breath. We learned that the legendary David Lee Garza was hospitalized due to shortness of breath and fluid in the lungs. At the time, his show was canceled for the week.
@edgar_ramos_ Tejano icon and multiple Latin Grammy winner David Lee Garza, often celebrated as “The Godfather of Tejano,” has been hospitalized, prompting the cancellation of his upcoming shows with David Lee Garza Y Los Musicales this week. Representatives from Freddie Records and JRod Music confirmed that Garza was admitted to Baptist Hospital in San Antonio on Friday, October 3, after experiencing shortness of breath and fatigue. According to his longtime manager Joey Rodriguez, doctors discovered fluid in his lungs, and he will remain under observation through the weekend for precautionary care. The band announced that all scheduled performances for this week have been postponed. They extended their gratitude to fans for their understanding and asked the community to keep David Lee Garza in their prayers as he focuses on rest and recovery, adding that they look forward to returning to the stage soon.
