More rainfall is on the way to the Crossroads this week with another 1 to 2 inches possible by tonight. The National Weather Service has issued a River Flood Warning for the Guadalupe River at Victoria until further notice. With showers and thunderstorms expected to bring additional rainfall to the area, Victoria residents should stay up to date especially if they live near the river.

Today's Forecast

Scattered thunderstorms are likely to develop today. These storms could bring additional rain totals of 1 to 2 inches to Victoria with heavier amounts possible throughout the Crossroads. With the ground already so saturated from last week's storms, additional flash flooding may be possible.

Flash Flood Watch Issued for Victoria County

A Flash Flood Watch has been issued for Victoria County until 7 p.m. this evening. This watch includes Coastal and Inland Calhoun County, Goliad County, and Victoria County. More rainfall will mean flooding along rivers, creeks, and streams will continue to climb today should storms become heavy. A Coastal Flood Advisory has also been issued for the Texas mid-coast.

Rip Current Risk

The National Weather Service is calling for a High Risk of Rip Currents today for all Middle Texas barrier islands. Swimming conditions could be dangerous especially around the piers.

Rain Chances Stay with us for Tuesday and Wednesday

May is the month when Texas sees more severe storms than any other. What a great way to get ready for the start of hurricane season coming June 1st. It's just another reason why we are always on our toes here in South Texas. Showers and thunderstorms are in the forecast for Tuesday morning and Tuesday afternoon. Some of Tuesday's storms will linger in the area through Wednesday morning, increasing our chances for more rainfall and additional flooding.
