Former Goliad High School QB Cut By Cowboys
It's always great to see a hometown boy make it big in pro sports or any career that gets them national notoriety but unfortunately for one former Goliad High School grad it won't be with the Dallas Cowboys, at least for now.
Dalton Sturm was officially a Dallas Cowboy until yesterday, when he was cut from the roster because of a need for defensive players. Sturm was free-agent and a walk on at UTSA, where he was named starting quarterback in his sophomore year. His college career was impressive finishing as the Roadrunners all-time passing efficiency leader in 2016, breaking single-season records for TD passes, and single-game records for passing yards, passing TDs, passing efficiency, and total offense.
Sturm said he was disappointed that he didn't get to play in a preseason game, but he said he understands the situation, and his agent is busy trying to find him another opportunity.
