Grupo Frontera is one of the biggest names in Mexican music and incredible representation for Tejano music. While many do not consider Frontera "Tejano," I personally think they are incredible representatives for Tejano music. The reason why? They grew up with Tejano music influences in the 956 such as Grupo Mazz and Bobby Pulido, just to name a few.

One of their recent post has them doing dance moves to Grupo Potente's version  "Linda Morenita." They got the moves down, they just can't make it down to the ground. Check out the comparison below. Just another example of Frontera being "Tejano and Proud." Just look the face of the lead singer, Payo, just enjoying the music.

Here is the inspiration from Grupo Potente. What do you think?

"Linda Morenita" was released by Grupo Potente in 1996 and was off of the "Quierian Mas" album with Freddie Records. Potente continues to release music independently with recent releases of "Arrepentete" and "Besos Bonitos."  You can catch Potente on a recurring podcast.

Grupo Frontera continues to bring excitement to South Texas! Last week, they made a special appearance at the Alamo Flea Market to make a music video. We can't wait to see the final product.

Frontera's rise to fame is an incredible journey. Check out them performing the same song at two different points in their career.
