Texas Diesel and Gas Have Just Hit a Shocking State-Wide Record High
GAS PRICES SKYROCKETING
Gas prices have everyone staying inside minding their own business and giving their car a rest. For someone like myself who drives around the loop just to chill out, the days seem a lot longer and more stressful.
Do not stare directly at the price at the pump, it hurts a little less that way. Basic economics explains a natural rise in gas during the summer, however, with the Russian invasion barrel prices of gasoline are skyrocketing in just a short amount of time.
THEN VERSUS NOW
In the blink of an eye, our tanks went from taking $30 to fill up, to taking the entire paycheck to get from point A to B. One year ago, the average gas price for unleaded 87 was just $2.54; that's almost hard to remember. Just one week ago, the average gas price in Victoria was $3.33.
ALL-TIME HIGH
March 10, 2022, Texas gas and diesel hit a record high. The state's average price for fuel is at its highest, and moment by moment a Prius isn't looking so bad. Regular unleaded gasoline in Texas currently has an all-time average high of $4.004.
DIESEL RECORD HIGH
Texans love trucks and they are getting hit particularly hard in the pocket. March 10, 2022, Diesel just hit an all-time high in Texas with the state average being 4.85/ gallon, that's $2.07 higher than this time last year.
TAKE SOLACE
All this being said, we can count our blessings that high gas prices are all we worry about during our day. We could have it a lot worse. Compared to the families living overseas we have it good. Take solace in knowing, this will not last forever, and we can eventually return to a more affordable normal.
