Houston Driver Breaks Texas Mile Speed Record-Twice [VIDEO]
The highly-anticipated Texas Mile officially moved to Victoria Regional Airport this weekend, and despite a little rain Friday, the event was a huge success. Speed was the name of the game, and last year's record holder broke his own record twice this weekend.
Driving a 2006 Ford GT Coupe 2D, Patrick O' Gorman of Houston set 2 new records. Last year, Gorman drove the car to a record speed of 279.9 mph at the event in Beeville, and this weekend, he broke that record on Saturday hitting 282.2 mph and on Sunday, topped that speed at 293.6 mph. Incredible!
It is so cool to have this event that attracts racers and teams from all over the world right here in Victoria, and I'm really looking forward to the next event coming up in the fall. Here's video of the record-setting run.
