DeTar Kicks Off Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive This Saturday
Here is your chance to help fight hunger in the Crossroads area! The kickoff will take place at Victoria's Farmers Market on Saturday, March 7, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is presented by DeTar Healthcare systems.
The Jars of Love benefits the Food Bank of the Golden Crescent.
It's the Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive, supporting the Food Bank of the Golden Crescent. If you would like to help, you can bring a jar of peanut butter or make a cash donation on-site.
As a thank you, every donor will get to spin the prize wheel for fun DeTar swag. All donations collected go directly to the Food Bank of the Golden Crescent to help fight food insecurity and hunger across the 11-county Crossroads region.
Let's work together to surpass last year's total.
The fourth annual drive runs through March 23, with a goal of collecting 5,000 jars of peanut butter and $5,000 to support families in need. After collecting 4,200 jars last year, organizers are aiming even higher in 2026.
Here is a challenge for our community.
In honor of the Food Bank’s 40th anniversary, supporters are encouraged to participate in the $40 for 40 Years Challenge. Every $40 donated equals 20 jars of peanut butter. Online donations can be made at.tfbgc.org/jarsoflove, where $2 provides one jar of peanut butter.
Peanut butter remains one of the most requested food bank items because it is nutritious, shelf-stable, versatile, and kid-friendly. It’s one of the few shelf-stable sources of protein that families can rely on. A simple jar can make a meaningful difference.”
Make an in-person donation at DeTar facilities.
In-person donations can be made through March 23 at collection bins located in the lobbies of all DeTar facilities.
