West Senior Athlete and Student of the Week Braden Merritt

Our congratulations goes out to Athlete and Student of the Week, Braden Merritt!

Braden, a senior at Victoria West High School is a young man on a mission! As Team Captain of the West Warriors, Braden is known for his leadership skills who is a true team player.

But his accolades do not stop there, by far. He is not only the West Warriors team captain but his dedication to his sport has garnered him as a First Team all-district, First Team all- region, Academic all-state, and the Offensive Lineman of the Year.

When not on the field, you can find Braden on the mat as the Warriors Powerlifting Team Captain winning prestigiously First Place at Regional Meet and Fifth Place at State Meet.

So is Braden all brawn? Absolutely not. Braden is just as dedicated in the classroom as he is when competing on the mat and on the field. Braden is a member of the National Honor Society which means he manages his time to include doing his very best in his studies as well.

So what's in the future for this young man?

Whoop! Braden has been accepted and will be attending Texas A&M in the Fall!
