All small and large cities have traffic problems, and Victoria is no exception. Just drive on Navarro for a few minutes, and you will experience some of the craziest driving in Texas. It's enough to drive you crazy! I asked a question on a Facebook Page: "What is the thing you hate most when driving in Victoria, Texas?" WOW, I got a lot of responses.

Maddening Medians: The City added stylish medians over the last few years. Supposedly, it was to make the roads safer from cars turning into traffic. If you want a coffee and it's on the other side of the road, you must drive down to an intersection to do a U-turn. While that's great for safety, it can confuse intersections, and it was by far the #1 Peeve for the post. The problem is that drivers turning right at the corner to your left are supposed to give you the right of way when your light shows a green arrow for turning. It's frustrating to get cut off by those vehicles; plenty are in town.

Pot-Luck Roads: This was the #2 complaint. Potholes and the condition of roadways are top of the list. It does appear they are trying to fix them, but there are so many it will take a long time.

Need for Speed: Navarro is the main artery, and you can choose from speed limits of 35 to 45 MPH. You'll go nuts trying to figure out which limit you are in at the time. Of course, when you are most confused about the speed limit, you come across a Traffic Cop. Don't worry; they will pull you over and remind you how fast you are with a ticket while the driver tailgates you and moves right along.

Pipe it down: It's obvious we have a booming industry here that maximizes car and truck horsepower. Those engines always come with pipes that blow out your eardrums and scare you as they whiz by 20 MPH over the speed limit.

Hold on, I'm turning: The advantage of Navarro is that there are so many businesses and restaurants on the road, which is super convenient. But we have drivers here who turn into the driveways so slowly! Yeah, it would help if you slowed down a bit to turn, but we have many cautionary drivers who almost stop before turning.

A Blink is better than a Wink: Hey, that arm on the left of the steering column is a Blinker. We can better avoid you when you use it, especially if we make one of the now famous Victoria U-turns.

Don't Drag Me Down: Remember the loud pipes? Those vehicles attract others who are equipped in the same way. They like to Drag Race each other, and they seem to enjoy that you are there to slow the other vehicle down if they can't line up together, like an obstacle course for racers.

Mosquitoes on Wheels: How often have you been driving along, conversing, or switching lanes only to have a high-speed motorcycle pass you? Hopefully, you aren't holding that Grande.

Hold on, I'm Texting: You miss getting through the traffic light, but the texting driver in front of you doesn't. They finish texting and drive through the yellow light, leaving you at the red.

Left Lane, Right Turn: It's great having three lanes to travel on, but crazy drivers love waiting until they need to turn right from the Left lane.

I'm not in a hurry: These drivers are the opposite of Drag Racers. They are never in a hurry and always go 10 miles under the speed limit.
