Three young teenagers were killed after crashing into a tree during a high-speed police chase in Spring, Texas.

On January 2nd, deputies found a vehicle flagged as stolen by their license plate scanner. The deputy attempted to pull the vehicle over but was quickly pulled into a high-speed police chase.

The vehicle, which was full of 6 teenagers, all between 14 and 15 years old tried running from the police but the chase was tragically ended shortly after it began. The vehicle slammed into a tree after reaching speeds as high as 90 mph.

The driver and 2 others were killed, and the remaining 3 teenagers in the vehicle were hospitalized in critical condition.

Investigators are continuing to piece together the scene but have recovered some items.

“There were some masks recovered from the scene. They did have some screwdrivers and hammers in their possession,” HCSO Maj. John Nanny told said. “At this point, it’s all preliminary, so we don’t really know what they were out doing.”

A SEPARATE CAR CRASH IN TEXAS

Late Thursday night, a driver crashed into a gas station in south Fort Worth and was arrested for drunk driving. Police said it happened just before midnight on McCart Avenue near Sycamore School Road. A 2014 Chevrolet Malibu hit a small kiosk at the Murphy gas station.

The driver told police he was trying to avoid another crash but lost control and hit the kiosk between the fuel pumps. Officers said the driver seemed drunk and took him to jail for driving while intoxicated. Luckily, no one was hurt, and the gas pumps and station weren’t damaged.
