Another Massive Food Chain Suddenly Shuts Down in Texas
Many people woke up this week and found out they were out of a job after the mega seafood chain, Red Lobster, abruptly shut the doors to nearly 50 stores with little to no notice.

TEXAS LOCATIONS SHUTTING DOWN
Nearly 50 stores shut down this week, including several in Texas:
- College Station: 1200 University Dr E
- Dallas: 9069 Vantage Point Dr
- Houston: 302 Farm to Market 1960 Road West Cypress Pointe
- Lake Jackson: 104 TX-332, Brazos Mall
- Longview: 3515 McCann Rd
- Lufkin: 1919 South 1st Street Lufkin Mall
- Pasadena: 4002 Spencer Hwy
THE DEMISE OF ALL YOU CAN EAT SHRIMP
One TikTok user dug deep into the situation and explained, "They cited All You Can Eat Shrimp as a main factor in the bankruptcy."
The company's decision to offer all-you-can-eat shrimp all day year-round may have been their demise. More customers ordered the shrimp, however, they were eating more, staying longer, and losing the company money.
A report revealed that "Red Lobster suffered $12.5 million operating loss in the fourth quarter of 2023, despite its popular endless shrimp promotion."
A STARTLING TREND OF CLOSURES
There seems to be a trend, just last month the fashion store Rue 21 did the same thing. The massive retailer announced it would be closing down all of its stores and let go of management, leaving store associates scrambling around.
