Jai Sterling’s Latest Single ‘Gracias’ is Absolute Cumbia Vibe
A few weeks ago, I did an article about how West Texas was coming to life in the Tejano Music scene. One of the artists that was mentioned was Jai Sterling, and his latest single proves that he is making noise.
Jai also knows that collaborations are the hot thing right now.
Jai's latest single, titled "Gracias," is a collaboration with the incredible Conjunto Group, Los Monarcas de Pete Y Mario Diaz! The single features a cumbia beat that speaks to the younger generation, and that is what makes Jai a force for the next generation of Tejano music.
Jai's music style is different from traditional Tejano music.
The musical styles of Jai are a little different from the Tejano styles of David Lee, La Mafia, and Emilio, and that is ok. He is a prime example of music styles changing and progressing. What works most for him is that his style is that it sounds young and appeals to the youth, our next generations of Tejano music fans.
Jai Sterling's new album 'Iconic' drops later this year.
Not only is Jai a writer and producer of music, but he also films, directs, and edits his own videos. In October, Jai will release his fifth album, "Iconic." We will be chatting with Jai soon on KLUB Tejano 106.9.
Back in February, Jai released a cover of a Jay Perez cumbia, and you will know exactly what speaking to the younger generation sounds like.
@therealjaisterling This gem of a cover is available on my YouTube channel as a tribute to THE VOICE, Mr. @Jay Perez Hopefully I did this justice, Vamonos!! @Marí Chofí #tejanomusic#latinmusic#salsamusic#fypシ#musiciansoftiktok♬ original sound - Jai Sterling
