Legal Battle is Heating up for the Name “Los Chamacos”
Catch the Tejano Nation update with Romeo weekdays at 10:40 on KLUB Tejano 106.9
Jaime DeAnda has officially filed for federal trademarks for both “Jaime y Los Chamacos” and “Los Chamacos” with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Jaime's new shows are already using the JYLC name. Jaime DeAnda made the announcement via a post to Facebook.
The same day of Jaime's announcement, Los Chamacos, quickly issued a response to Jaime's claim.
“The rightful ownership of the business name ‘Jaime y Los Chamacos’ is STILL under Roel Joslin,” the band stated, listing everything included in the sale: merchandise, royalties, licenses, and more. “No court ruling or any other authority judgment has been made to change that.”
At this time, no legal filings have been reported to formally contest ownership. But with both sides standing firm and airing grievances publicly, the battle over Los Chamacos appears far from over — a stark contrast to the harmony the band once represented. We are hoping for a peaceful resolution with minimal drama.
Los Chamacos was the first group to perform for our KLUB Tejano 106.9 VIPs in January 2022.
Los Chamacos performance was so energetic, it was used for commercial and media purposes.
