Baby, it's going to be cold outside as Old Man Winter visits the Crossroads for the New Year.

Here is what you can expect.

An Arctic cold front is making its way down to South Texas and will likely hit Victoria Saturday evening. We are anticipating that temperatures will begin to drop drastically down into the upper 20s to mid-30s by Sunday night and stay with us right into Monday morning.

Saturday highs are expected to reach into the upper 80's with a low of 38.

Sunday the high is only expected to reach 50 degrees with a low of 30.

Monday the high is expected to reach 55 with a low of 38.

There is a chance of freeze, unfortunately.

As nice as it is to say we are finally getting some winter weather, there is a chance we will be under a freeze watch, as well as dealing with freezing winds which could potentially hit into the low to mid-20s leaving us with the coldest winter weather of the season and a chance for busted pipes.

In fact, many weather reports indicate we would potentially see the Crossroads and our coastal neighbors experiencing up to nine hours of below-freezing temperatures, possibly resulting in freezing and issues with water lines.

Weather Records for December in the Crossroads

There is a saying, " If you don't like the weather in Texas, give it half an hour," and for the last few weeks, nothing could be closer to the truth. There have been multiple days now that have reached a record high for December in the Crossroads and Christmas felt more like Spring Break than a winter!

Be weather aware out there!

Please don't forget the three P's during the weekend is sure to protect the people in your community, your pets, and plants outdoors.

We will continue to keep you posted on all-weather matters. Be safe Crossroads and bundle up!
