Crossroads, you asked and Victoria Parks and Recreation delivered! 

For all of us who begged for a dog park in Victoria, the Victoria Parks and Recreation will treat us, and our fur babies, to our first dog park in Spring 2023!

Thanks to a myriad of support for a dog-friendly community, Victoria is getting their first dog park and the best part is that it will be located right inside our famous Riverside Park!

You can read the full civic alert on the Victoriatx.org website or by clicking here, but after a quick chat with Victoria Parks and Recreation Director Jason Alfaro, it sounds like folks in the Crossroads can expect their new dog park grand opening at Riverside happening around Spring of 2023! 

The dog park is expected to be ready spring of 2023 and will be located across the street from the Pumphouse Restaurant.

Director Alfaro will be our next guest on Victoria Report this Sunday with details that include not only news on our first dog park, but updates on the duck pond as well.

It's been amazing to see the growth of our parks in the last year putting Victoria parks back on the map, especially in 2023 for dog lovers!

“I’ve been hearing requests for a dog park since I first came to Victoria,” said Parks & Recreation Director Jason Alfaro. “The new master plan will help to guide us as we invest in our community’s needs, and the dog park project will be the first of many.” Alfaro offered in 2021.

Now that plan is in action and is expected to open in just a few short months! Seems our fur baby community supporters deserve some serious treats too!

We also want to say thank you and send love to the family of Izzy Drane, who sadly passed away last year, but not before she put Victoria's first dog park at the forefront of growth in our community. She will be greatly missed.
