Today I filed for my candidacy for RGC City Commissioner place 1.

I believe it is time for me to give back & serve the community that has given me so much. I strongly believe I am a candidate that can relate with the everyday person in Río Grande, “Soy del barrio”. I stand with the people who want a solid future for our community. I humbly ask for your vote & support.

Ben DeLeon will continue touring and making music with Solido. However, he will slow down just a bit if he wins County Commissioner. I reached out to Ben and he say's "I have always been involved with my community, & have been waiting for the opportunity to run for office." He adds "I’m at a point in my life where my kids are in school activities (sports) & I want to be here to support them." We wish Ben the best and are sending positive vibes to ben for a successful campaign!

Back in 2003, a relatively unknown group called Solido released an album entitled 'Hasta La Cima Del Cielo' and the rest is history. The title track from that album earned Grupo Solido Grammy nominations and made the group a household name for Tejano and Norteno fans alike. We hope to see Solido back in Victoria soon!
