Although no cause of death has officially been determined, Sharkey's friends and family have spoken out their concerns. Sharkey's friends told ABC13 that Sharkey mentioned some fears a month ago during a trip to Marfa, Texas.
"She confided in me that night ... she's petrified," a friend said. "This girl is scared for her life."
Sharkey's friends and her mother, Stacey Robinault, told ABC13they to believe Sharkey was murdered. Sharkey's mother talks about a gut feeling she has about her daughter's death. Her mother commented, "I do believe she was murdered. Yes. From what I've been able to gather as well as a mother's gut,"
Sharkey also leaves behind her husband, Tom Sharkey, who has taken to social media to express his sentiments.
Family and friends are mourning as they begin to piece together the last moments of their loved one's life.
"I don't know why," Robinault said. "The horrific nature of her last moments must've been ... I can't even. I can't even go there."
A GoFundMe account has been set up to help with funeral costs and travel fees.
