The Best Small-Town Bar in Texas is Literally Underground
If you're ever visiting Big Bend in West Texas, you might want to stop in at a hole-in-the-wall called La Kiva Bar& Rastaurant, named by Thrillist as the Best Small Town Bar in Texas.
La Kiva is more accurately a hole in the ground than in the wall, because the bar is literally dug into a creek bank in Terlingua, Texas, near Big Bend National Park in West Texas.
Thrillist describes it as a "rock-covered saloon decorated with animal skeletons, kind of a Cro-Magnon Man Cave." It has dinosaur decor with rock walls, cold beer, barbecue, pizza, and live music. From the looks of it, it looks like a place to visit at least once.
