The South Texas Homies Celebrate Five Years in the Industry
Five years ago, we heard the name "The South Texas Homies" for the first time and the ride has been incredible. This was the brain child of legendary Bobby Martinez, may he rest in peace. What made the South Texas Homies even more special in our neck of the woods was the Victoria connection!
Anthony Trevino! He is the accordion player for the group and lived in Victoria while going to Stroman High School! Go Raiders!
Miguel Sanchez is the new bass player and also has ties to Victoria. He went to school at Patti Welder, Crain, and high school at Victoria High School. Go Stingarees!
Just two of the many talented musicians that represent the Tejano industry in Victoria, Texas!
You can hear their latest single "La Que Tengo en Casa" trending on KLUB Tejano 106.9. Congratulation and continued success to this group of talented musicians, THE SOUTH TEXAS HOMIES!
A LIITLE HISTORY OF THE SOUTH TEXAS HOMIES:
In 2020, the STH released their debut album "It's Time", which debuted at #1 on iTunes in the Mexican Regional Charts and earned them a Latin Grammy nomination. That incredible moment set the tone for their journey, and over the years, they have been honored with awards from the Tejano Music Awards, My Tejano Awards, and Tejano Mundial Awards, among others. They will be back in Victoria for Cinco de Mayo weekend.
"This journey has been a rollercoaster of emotions—highs, lows, and everything in between. Through it all, one thing has remained constant: the amazing love and support from everyone"
