If you're like most parents, you won't be able to take a week off for work just because your kids are on their spring break. But what if you don't want them to stay home while you work?

Here is great news. The Texas Zoo will be offering their Spring Break Zoo Camps for kids for the week of March 15th through the 19th.

The program includes educational and explorational animal activities as well as just being outdoors in a safe environment! Half-day camps are available for children ages 5 to 7 from 9 a.m. to noon, and full-day camps are available for children ages 8 to 13 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

According to the Texas Zoo website which you can read here, Monday 3/15 is Keeper Camp, which offers an in-depth look into what it’s like to be a zookeeper while they shadow specialists with everything from feeding to training the animals.

On Tuesday 3/16 the Texas Zoo is offering Trainer Camp, which is a look into how and why the zoo trains the animals along with training participation activities.

Wednesday 3/17 is Vet Camp, a day to teach children about caring for the animals while they participate in simulated surgeries learning about vet medicine.

On Thursday 3/18  Zoologist Camp, is an opportunity for your kid to learn how and why wildlife biologists use modern technology to track and study wild animals in the field.

Friday at the Texas Zoo it's Wildlife Warrior Camp, which teaches children about how zoos help with conservation and saving animals from extinction giving them the opportunity to interact with endangered species and explore conservation.

Did you know the Texas Zoo is home to over 100 species of animals, with a large portion of The Texas Zoo’s collection comprised of rescue animals that could not be returned to the wild? These are the amazing things your kids will learn at the Texas Zoo.
