Born on August 28, 1950, and co-founded Grupo Mazz alongside Joe Lopez back in 1978. Together, Grupo Mazz made some incredible music and classic Tejano hits that live on to this day.

It wasn't until after Joe and Jimmy split up that we learned just how awesome an artist and producer Jimmy was. In one of Jimmy's live albums, Jay Perez refers to Jimmy as "one of the greatest producers that the state of Texas has ever seen," which is an absolutely true statement.
