UHV Athlete of the Week-Haley Beam

University of Houston-Victoria and Townsquare Media would like to congratulate Haley Beam on being the Athlete of the Week.

Player: Haley Beam, Pitcher/Third Baseman

Hometown: Pearland, Texas

High School/Previous School: Pearland High School/San Jacinto College

Classification: Senior

 Statistics for the Week: Was nearly untouchable in the circle as she tossed a one-hit shutout against No. 20 Central Methodist and four innings of no-hit ball in a win over Texas Wesleyan. She was 2-0 with a 0.54 ERA as she allowed one run on four hits and two walks, while striking out nine in three appearances. At the plate, she compiled a .333 batting average going 5-for-15 with three RBI, a run, a double, a triple and a .533 slugging percentage.

 What advice would you give to a younger player about the sport you are involved in that would help them improve? Never quit and give 110 percent in everything you do. Be a team player.

 What is your background and experience in the sport you participate in? Played at Pearland High School and San Jacinto College and was a member of the Aces Express-Gold select team..

 Career Ambition: To be a teacher and coach
