Friday night lights are back! Area high school returns to the gridiron tomorrow night. The East Titans and West Warriors play tomorrow night. The St. Joseph Flyers open on a bye week.

The West Warriors went 8-4,6-2 and finished 3rd in during the 2020-2021 season with a deep playoff run. During the playoff run, West had impressive victories including a 61-35 win over McAllen Memorial, 49-13 win over Eagle Pass Winn. Their season ended with a 28-21 hard-fought loss to Flour Bluff. Week 1 matchup: Victoria West at Lockhart

The East Titans went 6-4,5-3 and finished 4th in district earning a trip to the playoffs. The East Titans lost 26-23 to Weslaco East in a very close and competitive first-round playoff game. Week 1 matchup: Victoria East at Columbia

The St. Joseph Flyers finished the 2021 season with a record of 3-4,1-2 and that was good enough for a playoff spot. The Flyers defeated Brentwood Christian 27-21 in the first round before falling to Houston Second Baptist. Week 1 matchup: BYE WEEK

Cuero Gobblers finished the 2021 season with a record of 5-6,3-2 and finished 4th in the district. The Gobblers made it to the first round against Navarro(Geronimo) and lost a competitive game 31-28. Week 1 matchup: La Vernia at Cuero

Calhoun Sandcrabs finished the 2021 season with a record 9-3,4-1 and finished 2nd in the district. They beat Zapata 74-0 in the first round of the playoffs and lost 27-24 to Boerne in the second round. Week 1 matchup: Calhoun at Geronimo Navarro

Industrial Cobras finished the 2021 season with a record 11-2,6-0 and finished 1st in the district. The Cobras had a deep playoff run last year. Making it to the third round defeating Bishop, Blanco, and falling to Lago Vista 18-14. Week 1 matchup: Industrial at Ganado

Edna Cowboys finished the 2021 season with a record 6-7,5-1 and finished 2nd in the district. Edna made it to the second round of the playoffs last year. Defeating London and falling to Jourdanton. Week 1 matchup: East Bernard at Edna.

Yorktown Wildcats finished the 2021 season with a record 7-4,5-1 and finished 2nd in the district. The Wildcats made it to the second round of the playoffs. Week 1 matchup: Yorktown at Shiner St. Paul
