After the Big 12 Conference announced that it is moving forward with its fall sports schedule.  The league finally issued a conference schedule for the 2020 season, with revisions.  All home and away locations for each opponent remained the same, however, dates for most games were adjusted.

Here is the latest information we have about the 2020 conference schedule.

The Longhorn will keep the big showdown on their schedule.

The 2020 AT&T Red River Showdown versus Oklahoma at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas will not change, it will still happen on Oct. 10. The 2020 Big 12 Football Championship Game is set for either Dec. 12 or Dec. 19.  There are two bye weeks that are scheduled for the conference schedule on Oct. 17 and Nov. 14.

The Big 12 also announced its plans for "enhanced COVID-19 testing,"  This means that athletes will get three tests per week in high-contact sports such as football, volleyball, and soccer.  For added safety measures,  return-to-play protocols will include EKGs, troponin blood tests, echocardiograms, and cardiac MRIs.

This announcement comes less than 24 hours after the Big Ten conference presidents and chancellors voted Tuesday to postpone all fall sports seasons, including football, amid the coronavirus pandemic with the hopes of playing in the spring.

I am keeping my eye on the Southland Conference and hope the Stephen F Austin Lumberjacks can also get back to work on the field. #axeemjack
