How Can I Sign My Child Up for Youth Camp?

A quick visit to the Victoria PD website can be the easiest way to get ahold of the registration application and additional information. Camp costs are $60 per child and should be paid in full by June 30th. All applications for camp can be turned in at the Victoria Police Department sub-station at the Victoria Mall.

What Does the Camp Schedule Look Like?

During the week of camp, the Monday and Thursday sessions will run from 8 to Noon at the Victoria Community Center Annex.  The Tuesday session will run from 8 to Noon at the VPD sub-station at Victoria Mall. The Wednesday session will run from 10 A.M. to 1 P.M. and feature a camp outing to Outlaw Pass.

What Activities are Part of Youth Camp?

My nephews love when the police visit their school and give kids the chance to shadow an officer for a day. Youth camps like this one are a special occasion for our kids to work with those who serve our community and helps to build a bond between Police and the youth who grow up to be adults. These types of camps help to strengthen those relationships.

Youth Camp will feature drills like searching for evidence, traffic stops, swat drills, and all the other things we see members of law enforcement do every day. Victoria Officers instruct the classes and lead several demonstrations that focus on a variety of police activities. Kids can participate in learning CPR skills, work with K-9 units, handcuffing, and even take a look at the department's VR equipment. The experience gives kids a chance to build social skills and be around positive role models and leaders of our community.

Spaces Are Limited

There are a limited amount of spaces for the Police Youth Camp so do not wait. Parents who may have questions or need additional information can contact the Victoria Police Department Training Unit by calling 361-485-3799. You can also email policetraining@victoriatx.gov.

A special thanks to Victoria Police for sending over the photo of the 2019 campers. These kids have a great time and the officers are all looking forward to another great youth camp. Be sure to sign up and thank them for all they do serving the great city of Victoria, Texas.
