ictoria Police were involved in a high speed chase through part of the city earlier this week, but called it off for safety reasons. In a collaborative effort between several law enforcement agencies, the suspect was arrested without incident.

nvestigators with the Victoria Police Department, Deputy Marshals with the Gulf Coast Violent Offender and Fugitive Task Force, Deputies with the Beeville County Sheriff’s Office, and members of the Corpus Christi Police Department’s Task Force, collaborated in the arrest of 44 year old Robin Christopher Barnette.

On Saturday, March 19, 2016, just before 11:00 am, officers with the Victoria Police Department responded to the 100 block of Providence Court in reference to an unwanted person.  Dispatchers provided a description of the subject’s vehicle and officers spotted that vehicle near the corner John Stockbauer and Goldenrod. When the officers attempted to initiated a traffic stop, the subject fled. Officers with the Victoria Police Department persuaded the vehicle, which was a white Ford F350, but due to traffic conditions and unsafe speeds the pursuit was terminated. The identity of the driver was confirmed to be 44 year old Robin Barnette.  Then on Monday (March 21), Barnette for Evading Arrest or Detention in a Vehicle.

Officers located Barentte in the 6700 block of Highway 181 in Skidmore Texas. Barnette, who is known to police, was arrested without incident and transported to Bee County Jail with a $ 100,000.00 bond.

Just goes to show, they'll catch up with you one way or another.
