Cowboys Get Ready for Colts, Elliott Plans Suspension Appeal
While the Dallas Cowboys prepare to face the Indianapolis Colts in preseason NFL football this weekend, star running back Ezekiel Elliott is appealing his six game suspension over a violation of the league's personal conduct policy.
The suspension is over allegations of domestic violence by Elliott's former girlfriend Tiffany Thompson. Elliott contends the alleged assault was made up, and no charges were ever filed against him. NFL officials say an investigation turned up photographic evidence of violence, and instituted the suspension. Based on the appeal, the league has to hold a hearing within ten days. If after the appeal the suspension isn't reduced or eliminated, Elliott has the option to take his case to federal court.
While that situation plays out, the Cowboys haven't decided if Elliott will play in any preseason games, but head coach Jason Garrett indicated Elliott will most likely not take the field this Saturday for the preseason home opener against the Colts.
We'll have all the action beginning with the pregame at 5:30pm on KIXS 108.
