Will Houston Texans Have a Quarterback Controversy?
While the Houston Texans are in West Virginia getting ready for their second preseason game against the New England Patriots this week, the quarterback question came up, and veteran Tom Savage has been named the starter, at least for now.
This Saturday (Aug. 19th) the New England Patriots come to Houston to play the Texans, and Tom Savage will start the game, but you can also expect to see plenty of rookie Deshaun Watson, who played pretty well last week.
As far as the regular season is concerned, head coach Bill O'Brien is keeping an open mind, saying that the first round draft pick is progressing ahead of what he expected. O'Brien also says he likes how the first team offense looks, and that Savage is part of that team. Watson showed some spark in last week's first preseason game against the Carolina Panthers.
