Guadalupe River Levels Force Closing Parts of Riverside Park
With recent heavy rains across the crossroads, Guadalupe River levels are rising enough that city officials have closed parts of Riverside Park as a precaution.
While forecasts aren't calling for rising river levels to threaten any homes with flooding, the Guadalupe in Victoria is expected to crest at 23.9 feet late Saturday evening. Farmers and ranchers are being warned to move livestock and large equipment to higher ground, and residents in flood-prone areas like East Basin and Greens Addition should monitor the river levels.
Officials say Fox Bend, the boat ramp and other low-lying areas in Riverside Park will be closed as the river levels rise.
