Healthy Aging Conference Helps Seniors Stay Healthy
Like it or not, we're all getting older. With age comes different needs to keep ourselves and our loved ones healthy, and that's what the Healthy Aging Conference is all about.
Celebrating its 21st year, the Healthy Aging Conference is the only regional conference devoted exclusively to education and health screening for senior adults and caregivers. Co-hosted by Citizens Medical Center, Post Acute Medical and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Services, the event features educational sessions and a large health fair. Also included is a light breakfast, healthy box lunch, free health screening tests, and door prizes. The conference will be from 8:00 AM -1:30 PM, Thursday May 16, at the Victoria Community Center.
Attendees look forward to the presentations by medical professionals and this year features Dr. Tywaun Tillman, Interventional Cardiologist, Dr. Samuel Copeland, Pulmonologist, and Jean Gisler, Nurse Practitioner as speakers at the event.
The community center will be full of exhibitors, free giveaways, drawings for gifts and medical professionals providing free screening such as blood pressure checks, cholesterol, blood sugar and bone density assessments.
