Ah, the joys of joyriding in the summertime in Texas

Except of course if your joyride is completely illegal.

In what looks to be a complete drug haze, one Texas woman, 45-year-old Renee Waguespack, has been arrested for stealing a 52-foot yacht in Galveston and taking that bad boy for a joyride along the Texas coastline.

And it looks like from the initial reports, Waguespack was charged with" possession of a controlled substance, presumed to be methamphetamine as well as unlawful use of a motor vehicle" per police reports obtained from KPRC-TV.

Texas has a serious issue with methamphetamines, which you read more about here, with Dallas and Houston leading the newest cities for increased meth possession, with Corpus not far behind.

Thankfully Waguespack's joyride lasted just a little over an hour without any serious incidents or accidents to her, others, or the yacht.

Galveston police were called first to report that the yacht, named Loyalty, had sailed away from where it had been docked around lunchtime Monday.

If that wasn't crazy enough...

According to KHOU 11 on Youtube, which you can watch below,  Waguespack left a note for Loyalty's owners who live on the yacht, about needing the yacht to have lunch with friends.

It's not known at this time if Waguespack had prior education on how to drive the yacht, but after a call for assistance from the US Coast Guard and the Galveston County Sheriff's Office, the stolen yacht was found within the hour.

Waguespack was still on the yacht and initial reports suggest she had hidden the drugs on her person and had secreted them during her booking at the Galveston County Jail.

On a completely different but related topic... Have you ever daydreamed about being a pirate on the seas, wind in your hair, sans drugs but lots of oranges and onions to ward off scurvy? Just curious.
