One of the cool things about living in South Texas is that you are seeing more stuff like this. It's the youth embracing and showcasing our music and culture. I saw this video and it made me smile. Multiple videos posted to TikTok by Tiffhoney shows a High School pep-rally of a band playing Conjunto and Huapango music!

How awesome to see kids dancing huapangos at a High School pep-rally...

Puro Conjunto...

The name of the High School is La Joya Palmveiw HIgh School in the Valley. The name of the group is La Tradicion. You can also see members from the band jamming in fully produced videos.

This is the kind of stuff that I love to see. The next generation embracing our Tejano and Conjunto culture and a big part of this is thanks to La Joya ISD in South Texas.  Palmview High School currently has the most successful Mariachi and Conjunto programs in the state.  This kind of program inspires talent, passion, and tradition in our youth.
