A scandalous post has been circulating the Crossroads that poses a very serious question, is it illegal to leave a child in an unattended vehicle?

WITNESSES HEAR CRYING AND SCREAMING

While Melanie Saenz, owner of Southern Roots Paul Mitchell Salon & Barber Shop was working at her shop, she and other artists began to hear noises coming from outside. The noise sounded like crying and screaming around 11 am Monday, February 20.

A STARTLING DISCOVERY

One of the salon artists went running outside to check out where the screams and cries were comingthat's when he made a startling discovery. According to the post, the cries were coming from a parked vehicle, inside were "Two young boys at least 2 years old and the other looked younger!"

What's most startling is that the very young children were alone in a vehicle that appeared to be shut off with only a small crack in the front passenger window.

TRYING TO TRACK DOWN THE DRIVER

Startled, the salon owner and workers began trying to track down where the driver. Saenz said, "We asked every business along the plaza if they saw anyone nobody could find anyone or saw anyone exit the vehicle but they could also hear the cries!" Witnesses soon began to try and remove the children from the car.

Police were called but before they arrived a woman finally came back to the unattended car. According to the post, it was about 10 minutes after they discovered the children that the woman came back. Unfazed, the woman began, "laughing as we are all trying to get them out of the vehicle." She claimed, “They are ok, I left the windows cracked!”

Infuriated Saenz scolds the woman, "I said 'Cracked that’s insane they are babies, how irresponsible to leave them unattended in a hot car! They were in that vehicle for who knows how long before we found them!"

POLICE UNABLE TO LOCATE THE VEHICLE

Unfortunately, the woman took off before the police arrived. Officers simply advised Saenz and other witnesses to call if it happens again. However, Saenz had not known the lady until that moment and worried she might do it again, somewhere else. " I feel like that’s not enough let’s do better VICTORIA!!!" Saenz exclaimed.
