Victoria's first Reverse Lighted Christmas Parade was held Saturday night at Riverside Park and albeit crowded with a few hiccups ( as many first time events can attest) Victorian's got an opportunity to drive-thru Riverside to see multiple floats and fireworks, thanks to Victoria Parks and Recreation and businesses and individuals determined to bring holiday cheer safely to the community.

Congratulations are in order for the winners in each of the float categories but also to Victoria Parks and Rec and the City of Victoria! If 2021 finds us still social distancing in the Crossroads during the holidays again, we are likely to see VP&R putting together their 2nd Annual Reverse Lighted Christmas Parade and this time with some experience under their belts!

Crossroads Today offered the list of winners as follows;

Here are the float winners of each category:

  • Most Creative: Victoria Fire Department
  • Best Use of Lights: Miss Golden Crescent
  • Spirit of Christmas: Tag Management
  • Most Use of Lights: Dad’s RV
  • Most Silly: Women Growing Together Express Networks

It's been reported that cars were lined up from Navarro to Riverside to see Victoria's first reverse lighted Christmas parade, which means Victorians were excited to be a part of something new and creative during these unprecedented times. Happy holidays Crossroads and congrats to each of the winners! If you've ever put a float together you know the hours and the manual labor of love it takes to create and build a superior float. And wow, the staples! Hundreds of staples. AND LOTS OF TEAMWORK!
