Born Learning Trail for the Crossroads

The United Way of the Crossroads, TrustTexas Bank, and Victoria Parks and Recreation invite the Crossroads community to the launch of Victoria’s first 'Born Learning Trail' on Friday, August 27th beginning at 5 pm.

The new outdoor trail at Will Rogers Park, 1108 E. Warren, will help parents and caregivers support early education for young children. Games and giveaways will be free for all attending!

What is the Born Learning Trail

The Born Learning Trail is a series of learning activities that any adult can play with young children. TrustTexas Bank sponsored the Trail. A bank representative said, “We hope the Born Learning Trail will help our community do even more to get kids off to the right start.”

The trail offers signs along the way with activities parents and young children can do together.

Why is early learning important?

“Research tells us that children are literally born learning,” said United Way of the Crossroads Executive Director, Brooke Garcia. “We know that what happens in a child’s early years matters for success in life and for school readiness.”

Victoria Parks and Recreation continues to make improvements to our local parks.

Will Rogers Park, on Warren St. has recently been revamped as a part of the City of Victoria Parks’ revitalization efforts. The partnership with the United Way of the Crossroads and the City of Victoria is one that will benefit community members in many ways starting with the launch of Victoria's first Born Learning Trail.

How can you be a part of this initiative?

Be a part of the movement by making plans to attend the dedication address at 6:30 pm on August 27th at the Born Learning Trail kickoff event.
