Social Media is a wonderful platform for Tejanos. From us old heads using Facebook and Instagram to the new school, TikTok, Tejano has an amazing platform to showcase up-and-coming talent such as the Ybarra Boyz.

After many videos have gone viral of the 9 and 11-year-old Ybarra brothers. They found their way into a recording studio. As reported by Romeo from Tejano Nation Nights, The debut single by Ybarra Boyz, a brother duo from McAllen, gained thousands of views for their TikTok videos sharing a passion for Tejano and Conjunto music, which was released by MAR Records. “TYB Special” is a collaboration with members of Los Chamacos honoring Conjunto legends with the instrumental medley.

The article quotes Abraham, “Los Chamacos are great mentors to us; this has been a great and awesome experience that we will always remember for years to come,” Abraham Ybarra, 9, who plays the bajo quinto, and Rogelio Ybarra III, 11, plays the accordion.

THE NEW SINGLE:

“TYB Special” is a mix of their favorite polkas, “Atotonilco” by Tony de la Rosa, “Sacate los Piojos Chencha” by Mingo Saldivar, and “Rosa Ana” by Tony de la Rosa. The new single will be released to all digital platforms soon.

The instrumental includes two special guests from Los Chamacos, Edward “Chato” Ordonez on bass and Ruben Mendoza on drums. The track was recorded at Joslin Records Studio by Roel Joslin and produced by Jerry Alvarez.  Los Chamacos are currently in the studio and will be releasing a new single later this year.
