An Austin Teachers Union is demanding no in-classroom instruction until mid-November at the earliest according to KXAN.com.

There isn't much time to act as the proposed school year is coming up on August 18th. The lengthy list of demands from Education Austin (the labor union who represents teachers and employees in the Austin Independent School District) can be found using the link at the top of the page. Educating Austin is asking for the school year to be pushed back to September 8th and for no in-person teaching to resume until mid-November.

The union petition says, “We need to stop the return of on-campus learning until public health data shows it is safe for students, families, teachers, and school employees."
