SkyWest Airlines, a boutique company which serves large airlines like American and United Airlines has made its way to Victoria Regional Airport, which currently flies passengers to Dallas/Fort Worth and Houston Bush Intercontinental.

Headquartered in St. George, Utah, SkyWest's fleet of nearly 500 aircraft connected passengers to 233 destinations throughout North America. SkyWest Airlines carried 43 million passengers in 2019.

There is a goal from the Victoria Regional Airport for the Crossroads that you might find of interest as it could mean BIG improvements and growth of our airport for the future.

According to Crossroads Today, the Executive Director of the Victoria Regional Airport, Lenny Llerena, states that “10,000 or more enplanements per year” is needed to reach the goal which he has envisioned for the airport. An enplanement is the act or process of boarding an aircraft and 10,000 enplanements could mean $1,000,000.00 for the Victoria Regional Airport.

This is known as the AIP or Airport Improvement Program which funds projects at airports such as runways, signage, lighting, and airport markings through its grants.

“We need the community to fly this airline. Victoria Regional has grown over the years and as air traffic increases, bigger airlines may be seen in the future," Lenny offers.
