If you grew up in the Crossroads, there is a chance that you might have seen Los Amigos at a Wedding, Quince, or Public Dance. Cuero-based Los Amigos was established in 1981 by Albert Garcia and has stood the test of time.  In 2007, Albert Garica felt it was time to move on from Los Amigos after 26 years.  The next generation took over!

Albert Garcia's son, Phillip, took over the band in 2007 and hit the road running with the release of their first two studio album 'La Quimica' & 'Game On.' At that point, Phillip felt it was time to move on and recorded the next two records independently.- 'Next Level & Rebirth - EP' The EP 'Rebirth' is absolute fire, if you haven't jammed it yet check it out. 'Quiero un Carino' is track #4. Frankie really gets you into the song immediately as soon as that accordion drops.  You can jam that song at the bottom of this article.

PREMIOS MUNDIAL NOMINATION:

Los Amigos ASG just learned that they have been nominated for Duo Group of the Year for the 'Premios Mundial'.  It is absolutely awesome to see LOS AMIGOS ASG in the same category as artists like Elida, Intocable, and Siggno, just to name a few.  The years of hard work and determination have paid off. One thing that I respect about Los Amigos ASG is that they have stayed true to their style of Tejano music in an ever-changing landscape of Tejano music styles.  Go support Los Amigos-ASG and go vote by clicking here. This is not the first time that Los Amigos have been nominated for big-time awards.  They also have been nominated in the past for the top 5 best New Grupo in 2013 for the TTMAs

WHAT'S NEXT FOR LOS AMIGOS ASG?

Currently, Los Amigos ASG is working on new material with the next single expected to drop in late February.  As for Phillip's, dad Albert, he now has a new band in the Crossroads, Los Popos  Be sure you support live Tejano music in the Crossroads!
