New Report Shows Victoria is a Safer Place to Live
Crime is down according to a new report released to Victoria City Councilors yesterday. The 2017 Annual Crime Report shows that Class 1 crimes are down 4.23%, and Police Chief J.J. Craig attributes the decrease to keeping residents educated and improving communication. The chief also credited a crime analysis program and the work of the program's analyst Luke Scott.
The report shows that violent crime decreased at a higher level of 12.27%. Violent crimes include murder, rape, robbery and aggravated assault. Property crime was also down 3.34%.
