If Tropical Storm Nana actually becomes a Hurricane we may have to have a discussion with the folks at the National Hurricane Center who come up with these names. Now little kids all over South Texas and Southern Louisiana will all hear about this "Hurricane/Tropical Storm Nana" lurking down by the Yucutan Peninsula. 😂😂😂

There are currently 4 areas of concern in the Atlantic and Caribbean. The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories for Tropical Storm Omar a few hundred miles north of Bermuda, and Tropical Storm Grandma, er, Nana which is a couple of hundred miles east of Belize. 'Nana' is not expected to impact the United States. But if it did, you know 2020 would be the year for this to happen.

Further East in the Atlantic is another system midway between the Windward Islands and West Africa which is expected to further develop as it drifts West to the central Atlantic Ocean. There is a low risk for this system to develop over the next 5 days.

The Tropical Wave closest to Africa actually has the best chance to develop over the next 5 days. It is located just off the west African coast and is expected to merge with another storm near the Cabo Verde. This storm has a 60% chance of developing over the next 5 days.

The Labor Day weekend in the Crossroads will be free of Tropical Events at this time. Rain chances on Friday will give way to warmer temps for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Temperatures will be in the mid to upper 90's through the holiday.

Enjoy the weekend!
