Victoria Hires Golf Course Management Company

While Riverside Golf Course in Victoria is closed, city officials are looking at ways to improve it and have it be profitable. To that end, they've hired a management company for advice.

Foresight Golf Management will be hired for a price of $45,000 to help the city make the course turn a profit. As it stands right now, the course is closed for improvements. The city has voted to spend up to $48,000 on equipment and maintenance. It's not cheap to run a course, either. Officials say it costs nearly $1 million a year to run a golf course.

Based on a time frame for management companies to bid on managing the golf course, the city may be running it until sometime in early 2018.
