While at the Tejano Music Award Fan Fair I ran into so many incredible Tejano artists including Mr. Cris Medina. I was blown away by the performance of his band on the Concho stage. It would not take long for us to cross paths again. He stopped by the Victory Kia KLUB 106.9 studios recently for an interview. You want to talk about music in your blood.

Cris is the nephew of the legendary, Los Aguilares and he is also related to Los Hermanos Farias as well. Can you imagine what the musical vibe was like at backyard parties when he was a kid?  In his latest single 'Sonar Eterno,' Cris, pays hommage to the legendary Los Aguilares.

For many years, Cris would get together with his Tios: Emilio, Genaro, and Luis, while their band, Los Aguilares, would celebrate their anniversary in the music business. This was always a huge event. Since the 1960s, their friends, family, and fans would celebrate with them with a big dance at Blanco Ballroom or Randy’s Ballroom back in the day.

Cris has some incredible memories of listening to their music, which to this day is still a nostalgic and emotional experience. He always knew that one day he wanted to honor their musical legacy in some way and now he has with his latest single! We would also like to thank Cris for his service in our Military!
From Cris Medina's Facebook post...
“Soñar Contigo” which is Cris's rendition of Los Aguilares' 1983 hit song. It is the first release from my first solo EP. This song has such a personal connection for Jackie and I as well as my Mom and Dad, who celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary in November.I’m grateful to Mike Aguilar Jr and Luke Salas for lending their musical talents and creativity in their studio and on this record. They were simply amazing! I’m also grateful to all the radio stations and new friends I have met. Thank you for supporting the music and La Onda Tejana. I really hope you enjoy it and I look forward to sharing some more great music with you all in 2022. We may even do a live show, so stay tuned…
